SULTANA.BAMBINO THE DIGITAL ARTIST BEHIND OUR PRIDE T.
Sultana Bambino chose her name by paying homage to her Moroccan Jewish/Italian roots which play a significant role in her sense of identity. Her grandmother’s name is Sultana, who has a unique and outrageous sense of fashion and has been a huge aesthetic inspiration throughout her life. Bambino simply means “little boy” in Italian; while it can serve as a rejection of gendered standards it also adds a playful juxtaposition to Sultana which is the feminine form of Sultan as she feels it’s important not to take herself too seriously.
See the artwork Sam designed for our pride month inspired graphic Tee.
The photos were taken at Montreal, local queer bar NDQ (Note Dame De Quilles).
